Have you tried creating a adhoc network? This bypasses your wifi router and creates a direct connection between your iPad and computer. There shouldn’t be a delay and the connection should be much more solid. Give it a try (its easy on OS X to setup, not sure about pc), I am keen to hear if it is better as I am looking at buying the app.

No I haven’t but I’ll give it a try.
The only thing is that it’s not an ‘out-of-the-box’ solution, that all people will know how to do.
